2. Resolution and refresh rate: HDMI 2.0 is the most common version of HDMI and supports a maximum resolution of 4K (3840x2160 pixels) and a refresh rate of 60 Hz. However, DP provides higher bandwidth and flexibility, allowing for higher resolutions and refresh rates. The latest DP 2.0 version supports a maximum resolution of 8K (7680x4320 pixels) and a refresh rate of 60 Hz or 120 Hz.
3. Multi-monitor support: DP performs better in multi-monitor setups. Through DP daisy-chaining, you can connect multiple displays to a single DP output port, enabling higher resolutions and larger workspace. HDMI typically supports connecting only one display to one HDMI port.
4. Audio transmission: HDMI not only supports video transmission but also high-quality audio transmission, including multi-channel audio and high-definition audio formats such as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. DP can also transmit audio but is more commonly used in professional environments.
5. Physical connection: HDMI uses a more common rectangular connector, while DP uses a smaller rectangular connector. DP also introduced a design with a locking connector to ensure a secure connection.
6. Compatibility: HDMI is widely used in the consumer electronics market, and almost all TVs and most monitors have HDMI ports. In comparison, DP is more common in the computer field but may not be present on some consumer electronic devices.
