What's RJ45?
RJ45, or Registered Jack 45, is a standardized physical connector used primarily for Ethernet networking. It's an 8-position, 8-contact (8P8C) modular plug and socket commonly used for connecting computers, routers, switches, and other networking devices. The RJ45 connector is designed to work with twisted pair cables, such as Category 5 (Cat5), Category 5e (Cat5e), Category 6 (Cat6), and Category 6A (Cat6A) cables.
The connector is often referred to as an "Ethernet jack" or "Ethernet plug" because of its widespread use in Ethernet networks. The RJ45 connector is used to transmit data at speeds ranging from 10 Mbps (10BASE-T) up to 10 Gbps (10GBASE-T), depending on the type and quality of the twisted pair cable being used.
